Pool FAQ

What does a pool cost?

The cost of building a pool can vary dramatically. The cost depends on location, size, depth, and complexity of features. In-ground gunite pools can start in the low $40,000’s and go up from there, dependent upon these variables.

How long does it typically take to build a pool?

It generally takes between 4 to 8 weeks from excavation, depending on the size and complexity of your project (not including landscaping). Weather is a factor and can have a direct bearing on the actual construction time frame.

Can we build during the winter?

Yes. Colorado Pools, Inc. can (and often does) build during the winter. However, there may be additional costs for winter conditions, such as snow removal, tenting and heating.

Do you require a deposit? If so, how much do I have to put down?

Unlike other companies, Colorado Pools, Inc. does not require a deposit at the signing of the contract. Work will have started on your pool before any money is required. From then on it will be a progressive payment plan based on work completed. Be wary of companies needing your money prior to starting your job.

How much maintenance does a pool require?

In the past, pool maintenance was more a chore. But because of today's technology and conveniences, owning a swimming pool is easier than owning a vehicle! Pool chemical testing, cleaning, and preprogrammed filtration and heating can all be automated. Automatic pool cleaners and various sanitizing devices also make your pool easy to maintain.

How do I keep my children and pets safe around the pool?

Safety is a primary concern for swimming pool owners. Colorado Pools, Inc. recommends an automatic pool safety cover as your number one choice for security. It will not only keep children and pets out of your pool when you are not there, but it will also keep the pool clean and minimize heat loss. Wrought iron fencing and other pool barriers are available with self-closing/latching gates that help provide necessary security. There are also pool alarms and pool cameras with attached alarms that turn on with motion at poolside and set off an alarm in the house. However, there is no substitution for parental guidance around pools.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How long will it take to fill my new pool? How much will it cost?

Generally, it takes between 24 and 48 hours to fill a pool. Water costs vary with respect to local water charges and the size of your pool, but the cost usually ranges from $75 to $150.

How should I decide on the design of my pool?

Each property has unique features that should be considered when your pool is being designed. Your family needs, such as exercise, type of play activity and desired depth, should all be taken into consideration. A Colorado Pools, Inc. design expert will make sure your pool fits into the setbacks required by your local zoning department and will determine where the pool looks best when viewed from your house.
